Boston Private expands private lending team with strategic hires

Boston Private is pleased to announce the addition of two private lending leaders: Victoria Brazil and George Ferrel. Both join as Senior Private Lenders, responsible for advising clients on traditional and custom credit products.

The new talent supports the firm’s holistic wealth advisory model. Both lenders have deep experience serving the complex needs of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, and will partner with Boston Private wealth advisors to consult on credit options as part of a client’s overall financial plan.

Victoria Brazil joins Boston Private with more than 15 years of lending experience and deep expertise in credit analysis and underwriting execution. She is based in San Francisco.

Prior to joining Boston Private, Ms. Brazil served as a Private Lender and Credit Advisor at HSBC Global Private Bank and J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where she developed lending solutions for ultra-high-net-worth clients. Previously, Ms. Brazil spent five years with First Republic Bank in residential and construction lending roles. She earned her bachelor’s degree in computer science from Robert Morris University in Chicago.

George Ferrel comes to Boston Private with nearly 10 years of client-facing lending experience. He is based in Boston.

Prior to joining Boston Private, Mr. Ferrel spent seven years with U.S. Trust - Bank of America Private Wealth Management as a Private Client Manager, where he provided advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth relationships, including single-family and multi-family offices. He originated and managed a portfolio of credit facilities including those collateralized by marketable securities, restricted and concentrated stock, aviation, real estate and hedge funds. Most recently, he has been in the consulting world, identifying and executing on workplace efficiency improvements with Xcelerant Consulting. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
