In February, as part of our Black History Month celebrations, Boston Private was proud to make a $5,000 donation to The Conscious Kid organization. Founded in 2016, The Conscious Kid is an education, research and policy organization dedicated to equity and promoting healthy racial identity development in children. The organization works to bring antiracist children’s books to as many classrooms as possible throughout the United States.
By distributing children’s books to classrooms, The Conscious Kid gives teachers around the country access to some of the best literature and resources on race, racism and resilience. The work done by the organization helps students learn about Black and Brown experiences, helping children start talking about race and racism before implicit bias becomes entrenched.
This donation is part of Boston Private’s ongoing commitment to champion greater diversity, equity and inclusion.
