Thatcher L. Freeborn Joins Boston Private as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, Specialty Lending

Freeborn has joined the company as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, Specialty Lending, and will be based in Boston Private’s headquarters at Ten Post Office Square in Boston.
Freeborn brings more than 13 years of experience in the financial industry to his new role, with a strong foundation in working with nonprofit organizations, giving him a deep understanding of the unique needs of the nonprofit segment. Mr. Freeborn will work directly with Boston Private’s Specialty Lending clients throughout New England. The Bank’s Specialty Lending group has expertise in providing financing options for a variety of enterprises, including nonprofit organizations, private partnerships, and professional service firms, as well as high net worth individuals, and offers financing solutions such as working capital support, acquisition, expansion, capital improvements, debt restructuring, and community development financing.
Previously, Thatcher held the positions of Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer - Healthcare & Not for Profit as well as Vice President, Branch Manager at Century Bank, where he served as a trusted adviser to individuals, businesses and nonprofit institutions on a wide variety of banking concerns.
Freeborn is currently Treasurer of Vinton Street Hope Initiative, Inc. and Board member at the Boston Food Justice Young Adult Volunteer Program. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Hamilton College and resides in Melrose with his wife, Erin, and their two children.
