As EVP, Chief Corporate Growth Officer, Mr. Hofer is responsible for Boston Private’s strategic growth nationally for corporate and institutional clients. In addition, Mr. Hofer leads Boston Private’s vertical market efforts including Venture & Private Equity and Equity Crowdfunding.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Hofer served as EVP, West Coast Regional Leader. In that role, he was responsible for the growth of the west coast region, including Northern and Southern California, overseeing all west coast banking offices, private bankers and business development professionals.
Mr. Hofer is a former mathematics teacher at Trinity-Pawling School, a college preparatory school in Pawling, New York. He is a Founding Board Member of Phoenix Charter Academy; serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for Boston University’s School of Education; and a former member of the Board of Overseers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he served on the Executive Council. Mr. Hofer was recognized in 2009 by the Boston Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40”and again in 2013 by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
Mr. Hofer holds a dual degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Vermont, and M.Ed in Curriculum and Teaching from Boston University and an MBA from the FW Olin School of Business at Babson College.
