Godelieve Mertens

Ms. Mertens is a Senior Portfolio Manager in the San Francisco/Bay Area, managing individual and institutional portfolios and developing investment policies.

Ms. Mertens brings over 20 years of investment experience to her position. Prior to joining Boston Private, Ms. Mertens served as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Legato Capital Management LLC, a firm specializing in the construction and management of multi-manager portfolios for institutional clients. Before joining Legato in 2007, she was a Senior Investment Consultant at Alan Biller and Associates, focusing on Taft-Hartley defined benefit and defined contribution plans. She has also worked as the Director of Business Development for the Flanders Foreign Investment Office and as an analyst at AXA Rosenberg Investment Management and Pillar Point Capital Management.

Ms. Mertens received her M.B.A. at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she graduated with honors. She received her M.S.E.E. from the K.U.Leuven, Belgium. She was awarded the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, and is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society of San Francisco and CAIA Association. Ms. Mertens is a board member at The Whistle Stop Child Development Center in Palo Alto, California serving employees of the Veteran’s Administration Hospital and residents of Santa Clara and San Mateo County.
