Mr. George G. Schwartz currently serves as the President of Boston Private Bank & Trust Company and has been the Chief Executive Officer of Private Banking Group at Boston Private Financial Holdings, Inc. since April 8, 2016.  Mr. Schwartz is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Private Banking Group, including the Deposit & Cash Management, Residential Mortgage and Commercial Lending business lines.

He is a 20 year veteran of commercial banking and treasury having held a number of senior positions in a various financial institutions in Boston. He served as Treasurer, Executive Vice President and Manager of Deposit Management Division at Boston Private Bank & Trust Company.

Mr. Schwartz joined Boston Private Bank & Trust Company in 1998 and was responsible for managing the sales and growth for Boston Private Bank's deposit base and also he oversaw the regional geographic expansion activities. Mr. Schwartz was responsible for the Private Banking Client Service Department. Mr. Schwartz's prior experience includes Bank of New England's International Treasury Division. In 1988 Mr. Schwartz joined Wainwright Bank & Trust Company in Boston as a Vice President and founding officer. In 1993, he was named Senior Vice President and manager of the Private Banking Division of Wainwright Bank & Trust Company. He serves as a Director of Boston Private Bank & Trust Company. He is a Member of Boston Private Bank's Policy Group. He holds a BA in Comparative Literature and History from Boston University.
