Mr. Griffin became a consultant for the Company in September 2013 and joined the Company as an employee in May 2014. He is currently Executive Vice President of the Company and the Bank and Chief Executive Officer – Private Clients Group of the Bank, a role he assumed in January 2018. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of BPW, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bank, and Chief Executive Officer – Wealth Management and Trust Segment of the Company.
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Griffin served as President of The Davis Companies, an institutional real estate investment manager, from September 2011 to February 2013. From 1994 to 2011 he worked with Bank of New York Mellon where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Boston Company Asset Management from 2002 to 2009. Under Mr. Griffin’s leadership, The Boston Company opened offices worldwide while developing a $75 billion global, multi-strategy equity business across the style and capitalization spectrum with clients in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
He also served as a member of the Bank of New York Mellon’s Operating, Ethics, and Product Development Committees and as a board member of Standish Mellon Asset Management. Mr. Griffin is on the boards of directors of the Bank, BPW, and Dalton, Greiner, Hartman & Maher LLC, all of which are affiliates of the Company.
