Jason Cain has joined Boston Private

Boston Private is pleased to announce that Jason Cain has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Cain will report to Bill Woodson, Executive Vice President, Head of Wealth Advisory and Family Office Services, and will work with the firm’s Private Banking, Wealth & Trust teams to develop and deliver comprehensive, advice-based solutions for ultra-high-net-worth clients, family offices and their professional advisors. 

Mr. Cain has spent more than 25 years advising families on the many aspects of designing and operating family offices including strategy, administration, multi-generational wealth transfer planning, family governance and legacy planning.  His career also includes operational expertise in managing family offices. Mr. Cain joins Boston Private from BDO USA, LLP where he was the Managing Partner and architect of the firm’s national family office services practice. Mr. Cain began his career as a tax and estate planning attorney in Chicago representing families in the strategic design, implementation and administration of complex structures to manage generational wealth. In 2007, he left private practice to design and manage a single family office for a Forbes 400 family. From 2011 through 2017, he built integrated wealth management services for family enterprise clients at Credit Suisse Private Bank, USA and Mirador Family Wealth Advisors, the family office division of Fifth Third Bank.  

Mr. Cain received his Bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, Juris Doctorate from Widener University and Masters of Laws in Taxation from DePaul University.
