David Goss is a Managing Director and Head of Proprietary Strategies. In this role, Mr. Goss oversees the team of professionals responsible for the firm’s proprietary equity and fixed income strategies, as well as its equity research effort. He also co-manages the firm’s Core Equity strategy and is a member of Boston Private Wealth’s Executive Committee, Investment Policy Committee, and Asset Allocation Working Group.
Previously, Mr. Goss was Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Strategist at Boston Private Bank & Trust Company, during which time he had several responsibilities including the Core Equity strategy, asset allocation, external manager selection, performance measurement, and oversight of the equity strategies. Prior to joining Boston Private Bank & Trust Company, Mr. Goss was Lead Portfolio Manager on the Large Cap Growth and All Cap Growth strategies at Essex Investment Management Company and spent ten years at Alliance Capital Management, initially as an equity research analyst covering various industries and subsequently as a Large Cap Growth Portfolio Manager.
Mr. Goss brings a unique background to our investment team as a former engineer/scientist in the Space Station Division of McDonnell Douglas Space Systems, where he designed and analyzed shielding systems to defend the International Space Station from space debris particles.
David Goss earned a B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society.
