Jack Beauregard, Founder & CEO
Jack is a nationally recognized expert in transition planning. His strategic planning steps and decision-making techniques have been helping baby boomers successfully address the identity crisis of leaving full-time work, showing them how to transform traditional retirement into The Platinum Years® the best 10-20-30 years of their life after leaving their companies by filling their lives with new meaning and purpose. Jack’s seven proprietary principles show baby boomers how to create lives of significance. In 1983, Jack founded Designer Orthopedics, the first cost-containment company in the U.S., which he built into a multi-million-dollar business.Jack then decided to transition out of that company and in 1988 founded InnerVisions Associates, which focused on integrating the human and cultural issues in mergers-and-acquisitions. Associates of InnerVisions were involved in the integration of 140 mergers. As part of this process Jack helped owners who had sold their businesses and executives of merged companies determine what they wanted to do after leaving their companies. Realizing that the “what next?” question would be a growing problem for baby boomers in the coming years, Jack then founded the Successful Transition Planning Institute to help baby boomer business owners and executives deal successfully with this challenge. Jack has presented his unique approach on many radio and television programs, including National Public Radio and the Voice of America worldwide business program. He is also a popular keynote speaker at conferences, seminars and workshops. Jack is the author for three books: “Finding Your New Owner: For Your Business,for Your Life”; “7 Principles for Living with Authenticity: Discovering Your True Self When Facing Life Changes”; “The Power of Balance”. Jack speaks at universities, law societies, accounting societies, national conventions, banks and other firms, on how baby boomers can make successful transitions from their full-time positions. He is an alumnus of Harvard University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA.
Paul Cronin, Chief Operations Officer
Paul Cronin has over 30 years of professional experience in sales, management, consulting and entrepreneurship, growing established and start-up businesses, having sold his most recent company in 2008. Since 2009 he has worked with STPI’s founder, Jack Beauregard, to transform a small consultancy into a leading firm in Transition Planning for Baby Boomers.
Paul Cronin has also presented at the MIT Enterprise Forum, Northeastern University, Bentley University, Wheaton College MA), Emerson College, Wellesley College and Salem State University (MA) on issues of entrepreneurship, personal and business transition, running a successful business and business networking. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston.
Carolyn S. Macedo, Managing Director, Senior Business Development Officer
Prior to joining Boston Private, Ms. Macedo was with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management as Market Executive and Sales Manager. Previous to that role, Ms. Macedo was a Regional Private Banking Manager, managing the firm’s private banking business for New England as well as working with high-net-worth families. Her previous experience also includes 12 years at Silicon Valley Bank where she was a commercial lender and then founded the private banking practice for their east coast offices where she was responsible for new business development and client relationship management.
