Prasanna Gopalakrishnan Joins Boston Private As Chief Information Officer
BOSTON, MASS. — (JANUARY 5, 2015) — Boston Private, a leading provider of fully integrated wealth management, trust and private banking services, announces Prasanna Gopalakrishnan has joined the company as Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Gopalakrishnan brings more than 20 years of technology and leadership experience to the role. As CIO, she will have ownership of Boston Private’s technology organization, including strategy development in alignment with business objectives. Gopalakrishnan leads the engineering and delivery of client-centric digital platforms, business process automation and infrastructure and data analytics initiatives. Gopalakrishnan will also be responsible for implementing and integrating systems designed to improve the Boston Private client experience across private banking and wealth management platforms.
Prior to joining Boston Private, Gopalakrishnan served as the Chief Information Officer of Campus Services at Harvard University, where she led an IT organization supporting a portfolio of 12 business units within a diversified set of industry segments of Harvard Campus Services. While serving as a Director of Technology and Product Management at Fidelity Investments, Gopalakrishnan managed software engineering and product management teams responsible for the delivery of technologies and business processes with a tactical focus on defining and implementing IT product strategy and roadmaps. Prior to that, she also served in various leadership roles at Thomson Reuters and State Street Bank.
In 2015, Diversity MBA Magazine recognized Gopalakrishnan as one of the “Top 100 Under 50 Executive Leaders.” She holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Management from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Gopalakrishnan is passionate about developing women in technology and women of color, and serves in various capacities to support developing women in leadership. She also advises technology startup CEOs in Silicon Valley and other locations on business models as well as platform and product development.
She lives with her husband and two children in Acton, MA.
